My illustration was rooted in personal experience, inspired by playing in 6-a-side tournaments with Rainbows Blades, the official LGBTQ+ supporters’ group of Sheffield United. It celebrated the joy, community and belonging that football can create, and I was proud to include a couple of my own friends within the artwork, making it a genuine reflection of the people and moments that make the game feel like home.
